Where do you want to start?

Digital safety looks different depending on where you are. Pick the level that sounds most like you and we'll show you what matters most from there.

Not sure where to start, and that's completely fine. These are the four things that matter most, explained without any assumed knowledge.

01

Secure your email first

Your email is the master key to everything else online. If someone gets in, they can reset every other password you have. Start here before anything else.

  • Use a strong, unique password you don't use anywhere else
  • Turn on . It adds a second step when you log in.
  • Check that your recovery phone number and backup email are still yours

02

Know how to spot a suspicious message

Most online threats don't hack your computer. They trick you into handing over access. Learning to recognize the signs is the single most effective thing you can do.

  • Be skeptical of any message that creates urgency ("Act now or your account will be closed")
  • Hover over links before clicking to see where they actually go
  • When in doubt, go directly to the website instead of clicking the link

03

Keep your devices updated

Software updates aren't just new features. Most of them patch security holes that attackers actively look for. Staying current is one of the easiest protections available.

  • Turn on automatic updates for your phone and computer
  • Update your apps regularly, especially your
  • Don't ignore update . They're not just suggestions.

04

Use different passwords for different accounts

When one website gets hacked, attackers try those same passwords everywhere else. Using unique passwords for each account means one breach doesn't become many.

  • A makes this easy. It remembers them all for you.
  • At minimum, use a unique password for email, banking, and social media
  • Longer is stronger. A phrase is easier to remember than a random string.
